How do I make .PNG pics for candidates?

I'm completely computer stupid but I can follow directions. How do you take a downloaded image and convert it? I still haven't figured out how to take screen shots!?

It sounds easy enough in Frogboy's directions but I don't have the first clue. Please help me!

You will need a program like picture it or other that you can go into the program and save as a png file instead of the normal jpeg or bitmap.

Actually, just open up MS Paint, paste the image and crop it to how you want it. Then just click Save As.. and then click the drop down arrow and select save as .PNG
